Welcome in Spain

Before C3, the Spanish team prepares the activities for the mobility: presentations, games, worksheets, musical and dance performances, display of traditional costumes, traditional dishes made by parents. The events are included in the mobility schedule. The activities on the first and last day, notably for professors and pupils who are actively involved, will moderately influence the usual educational program. The teachers involved in the project will have to be supplanted by their school colleagues. The seminars will be performed in centers, in such a way not to disrupt class functioning. Participants will be divided proportionally for class participation events.

The mobility will be made up of: seminars and introductions given by Spanish pupils, meetings in which the teachers analyze the characteristics of the Spanish educational system, class attendance, cultural activities, trips to places of historical and geographical interest where host students will behave as guides, evaluation practices and leisure time.

The welcoming ceremony – musical and dance performances, presentation of traditional costumes. During the various performances we attended, there were many small choreographies. We will particularly remember some of them. Welcome choreography: all the students welcomed us with a general collective dance (primary and nursery) in the playground. A typical tango: the 2nd primary students gave us a tango demonstration, learned during their physical education class (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaRivJMejGs. Support dance: The students taught us a choreography using visual cues placed on the ground (colored sheets) which greatly facilitated learning the sequence of steps.

Workshop 2 – elements of Spanish History.
Evaluation 2 – online tools.
We were able to manipulate boomwhackers, these are PVC musical instruments of different sizes and colours which, when struck, produce the different notes of the scale. The Palma students demonstrated their experience to us in the form of several songs: A song about the C scale in Spanish. In this one, the chorus was sung and played using boomwhackers practiced by a whole group of students. And a Spanish nursery rhyme made using boomwhackers and sung by the students at the welcome ceremony.

Workshop 4: The hosts present a song from the Spanish traditional repertoire. Participants work in groups to identify the theme, characters and symbols. Then they are split in groups and create a poster for the song.
